Buyright.biz dominates Facebook Ads From Nigeria

Posted: 26, Feb 2009 by Possicon

buyrightI conducted a parallel survey on Nigerian sites that place ads on facebook the most, I have the report below.

Buyright.biz is an ecommerce site with focus on eletronics, computer hardwares, gadgets and books. It’s of note that Facebook now have about 223,500 Nigerians on its user base. Looking at the age-grade of the active users, one can say its a goldmine for advertiser who are able to strategize better on this social platform.

It’s also the only ecommerce site from Nigeria on the Top 100 list on Alexa ranking. It has been consistent on this list.

Buyright is helping to shape the future of online advertisement power in Nigeria. Though I still wonder why they are not advertising on Yahoo yet. One of the things of interest is also it consistency at using the platform to advertise. I have been seeing their ads now for over a year. I believe if its not working, they would have changed strategy. Well, its also possible that they have a positive future outlook for the platform.

Buyright also has a fan page, this I think is also a good strategy to keep their customers’ engage (I’m not really sure if they are making use of this).  The last time BuyRight wrote on its wall page is september 2008. That means they are not effectively using the platform. I pointed out in my recent blog on social strategies for brand loyalty, a social platform should be used to drive users/customers engagement and point them to your landing page which is where you have your products and services. I think Buyright should take not of this.

Some of the Nigerian firms that are using the platform includes:

Global
Omooba Bridal

I have you noticed a Nigerian advert on Facebook? Do you have any experiene/opinion on facebook ads? Let discuss below!
