In a build up toward the launch of its AppStore in Nigeria, MTN, Nigeria’s largest telecom operator will hold Ideas Forum tomorrow to parley with mobile applications developers and tech industry as a whole. MTN recognizes the importance of the growing trends toward mobile apps and they are kind of positioning themselves for the future.

I’m writing this today because it’s an invitation-only event, I got one last week. I will be there to liveblog as it goes on. It will hold at Southern Sun Hotel, Ikoyi, Lagos.

Key Discussion Point

Market Perspective of Mobile Apps

Key Learnings from other African market – Google

Strategic Options for Nigerian Application Developers – Nokia

Presentation of Existing Land local Apps – AfriNolly case Study

Comments and Questions

I really think if MTN buzz up the app thingy in Nigeria, our mobile apps developers can smile to the bank as more people will find the need to pay for apps, or what do you think?

Next week, the Mobile Monday tech meetup will hold in Lagos. It will be an exciting time to connect with technology entreprenuers in the country. This edition has been structured to have Q&A session, so if you have any question on you mind, come along and get techie!

Are you the mobile / internet enthusiast out there who believes / plays in the industry but doesn’t fully understand the language? You are a potential investor and you know there are prospects in this industry but you just dont understand most of the basics.

You are probably student who has many questions on how to become a mobile/internet enterprenuer? Or you are a professional who is looking at a career change or business in our industry but you have been finding it difficult to understand the basics on the internet and mobile business.

The knowledge required to get techie is not written in any training school syllabus nor most textbooks. It is more of a culture and language that we have evolved with over the years.

October MoMo meet-up is therefore setup to help you on this journey. It will be an interactive session where you can network, learn and ask kind of questions on what doesn’t make sense to you in the mobile internet industry. Our panelists will try to answer as many questions as possible and some of these will include:

Cloud Computing

Start a technology business

relevance of mobile applications to my business

How to recorgnize a good developer

+ The ones on your mind!

And YES! Our panelists will be answering all of them in a very interactive and networking free settings.

Come and get more Techie!
