Facebook continues to soar in Nigerian

As Facebook continues it stretch worldwide, it has continued to enjoy same growth in Nigeria. We reported recently about this growth earlier the year, since then Facebook as continued to soar.

SNS=Social Networking Site

On alexa.com, Facebook has replaced Google as the second most visited site in Nigerian.

Personally, I use Facebook virtually everday and it as become part of me. Given the exposure and its ability to keep you connected, I have become an addict member.

While Nigerian social networking sites are dropping in visits, (and possibly users) Facebook with its flexibility and popularity, it kept soaring.

For our home grown social networking site to be competitive, I think a local content should be considered. Most of what our SNS offer are provider by Facebook which is more sophisticated and flexible, hence the need to develop a Nigeria-minded SNS.

Facebook: a social platform that allows you to free share and connect with your friends and make new friends.

Total Nigerians: 489,500 (Source; Facebook Ads platform)
Male: 303,140
Female: 171,620

I believe SNS from Nigeria can still spring up to catch up with  Facebook, given that Facebook currently have below 5% of Nigerian internet population.

Do you think Nigerian Social Networking site can catch up with facebook?
