Most visited Nigerian Sites in April 2010
First, we need to apologize for lateness in this analysis. The ranking have been update since earlier this month if you noticed.
The ranking table looks strong still as the top ten for the past couple of months have refused to relax their grasp on their respective spots, moving up or down 1 to 2 places. Both Nairaland and punchng.com remain in 1 and 2 spots respectively while the battle is fought fiercely on the third spot by gtbank.com, sunnewsonline.com and vanguardngr.com but this month thisdayonline.com is on the spot. Nigeriagalleria.com drop of the top ten list to make way for nigerianbestforum.com.

The Trends
Looking at the ranking table, it seems as if nothing has really changed! Yea! Largely because the current trend on the web is social network, which is dominated by Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin. Unfortunately, there is no Nigerian site that has as much attention as these other social networking sites. Remember, Facebook started slightly more than a year that Nairaland was launched. While Nairaland had more Nigerian users than Facebook until last year, Facebook has more than double the number of Nigerians using the platform currently.
Overall, foreign sites still dominate Nigeria choice websites with Yahoo on the top spot followed by Facebook, Google.com.ng and Google.com. Then by live.com, blogger.com, Wikipedia.org, msn.com and of course Nairaland.com. A very quick one to notice twitter.com, the micro blogging platform has seen tremendous growth over couple of months and adoption in Nigeria is now the “in thing”!
