Nigerian Army Reviews Curriculum to Focus on Cyber Warfare
Nigerian Army is used to World War Two tactics, but the reality on ground indicates that The battlefield is everywhere: on the road, in the street, in the office, in the room and everywhere you may think of…these are the words of Director of Telecommunications, Nigerian Army Signal, Arakan Barracks, Apapa, Brig. General Ibrahim Sani.
He talked at the recent Institute of Software Practitioners of Nigeria (ISPON) capacity building workshop held in Lagos. He also said, the review is not particularly in response to the current bomb blast everywhere but that the army is known to be very innovative outfit and curriculum review is yearly thing in the government organization.
I’m very glad the Army is recognizing the need to be concerned about how the world has changed, missile, and battalion are of less use these days, the battle is shifting to the “Cloud” and our ability to be sophisticated at this will determine how secure we’ll be as a Nation. Key parts of the curriculum review include Critical Infrastructure Protection, Cyber Attacks and Defense.
