Nigerian Viable Web Business
As Nigeria begins integration with the other web-enabled countries, there is need for a competitive web business to be founded in Nigeria. A whole lot has been asked about this particular issue and I did mention few in my last whitepaper. And looking at 2010, we should expect big growth and more awareness from the mainstream. Even as funding remains one of the top issues, there also needs to be a startup that can conveniently convince an average investor or VC to put their money into his/her business.
Looking back at 2009, many startups were launched and I must say most have lowered their influence/growth/awareness in the industry. A good example is most of Nigerian Social Networking sites. In as much as they are good idea, they lacked the ability (financial, technical, media, etc) their counterparts in the US (Facebook, MySpace etc) have. I must acknowledge the growth and tenacity of these founders but I must say, the battle has just begun!
To successfully cross to the next level, which includes mainstream acceptance, funding and business prospect, viable business must be build to harness this potential.
As Outlook 2010 draws closer… I am searching… for that Nigerian Web Business that is not only HYPE but that can deliver value to site members and investors respectively. The company may not have been a cash cow for now, but you can sense a potential. If you know one drop the link let’s check it out! or mail info@webtrendsng.com
