Online advertising surge again, hit $22.7Billion
Should we say the recession is over? Well may not be far from the truth! Between 2008, online advertising was growing massively year-over-year, then comes the recession and everyone looked watched their pocket before spending.

The US is a model country for the possibilities the internet usage holds and everything that is yet to happen in other parts of the world is already happen down there. Looking at the chart, the growth was almost flat between 4Q of 2001through 3Q 2003 after that it’s been growth all the way.
IAB (Interactive Advertising Bureau) report stated that online advertising revenues in the U.S. climbed 2.6 percent annually in the fourth quarter to $6.3 billion, and were up 13.8 percent from the previous quarter. Worldwide growth for last quarter of 2009 was 10.2%. Please not that internet usage is still in its infancy in most countries in the world. Google’s international revenue was 53% for 2009. It’s obvious why US companies are aggressively growing their international presence.
Breakdown of Ads revenue by segments

Search: $10.7 billion (47 percent)
Display: $8 billion (35 percent)
Classifieds: $2.3 billion (10 percent)
Lead Generation: $1.5 billion (6 percent)
Email marketing: $292 million (1 percent)
Google controls almost 70% of the search ads market and have good stake in display revenue too.
For other emerging markets, it can only get better now and in years to come as more startups are runs on ad-driven business model.

Truthfully, what can be done to positively increase (aggressively) the international and online presence for Nigerian companies. We need to look into integrity, loads of awareness and small “start-up capital” online presence for our Nigerian companies. I believe Nigerians can achieve lots more fore ourselves if we can put aside the attitude of keeping tips that are helpful to ourselves alone. that is what being online is about: share and grow together.
You are right bro!
