Swift Network upgrades to 4G Technology

Swift Network upgrades to 4G Technology

swift

Swift Network is a top broadband internet service provider in Nigeria with extremely fast connection. About a year ago, it launched  hotspot internet service in various restaurant in Lagos and has since continued to expand it’s network.

One of the main headache using their old platform is that every installation of their network must be done by their engineers reducing the potential expansion of the service. I recommended and install their network for a microfinance bank about a  year ago and I must say, the service has been awesome.

4G Technology refers to the fourth generation of cellular wireless standards. It is a successor to 3G and 2G standards. The nomenclature of the generations generally refers to a change in the fundamental nature of the service. The first was the move from analogue to digital (2G), which was followed by multi-media support (3G) and now 4G, which refers to all IP packet switched networks and increases in data speeds. -Wikipedia

Swift operate one of the fastest internet service in Nigeria, how superfast will this new 4G bring? The launch is next month.

Swift networks is not the best internet service provider in Nigeria ! They all are bad anyway. Swift is just a joke ! I don't think this 4G Upgrade will change things. I'm a Swift customer and I'm not happy.

While i agree that using Swift-network's internet service is fast compared to other ISP's, i have issues with whenever they have an outage or there's a problem with the base station you are connected to.

I have on several occasions had to wait to be assigned an ip address so that my outdoor modem can access the internet. If for one reason or the other, i turn off my outdoor modem, i have to pray before turning it back on because there's a fifty-fifty chance i might be able to connect.

Don't get me wrong, when the service is up, it can be exemplary but when the issues start, their customer care reps treat you like you have no clue what computer is. Fingers crossed the planned roll out and launch of the 4G infrastructure does not break and splutter to a sudden stop when we get the new modems.

And in addition, i have been with Swift since they launched ……………

  5. Possicon says:

oh! Sorry for the bad customer service. It's one of the bigest issue Nigerian companies need to get right; Customer Service!

    Hope they improve!
