Potentials of The Nigerian Internet Market
If there is any reason why the best time to invest in the internet business and infrastructure is not now, well I think the data below show speak volume.
As a continuation to our research, below are some data for you to ponder upon. In this document we have data of Nigerian internet population, mobile population and the available markets in their respective industries. Given the fact that, majority (or all) the people who use these services (Internet & Mobile) are literate. From the graphs above, we can see how virgin the Internet market is, just 10% of the available market. The mobile market is saturated, only 37% yet to be claimed. Looking at the trends of the Internet/Web, mobile platform has become the driver for users.
In our part of the world, mobile usage is growing, platform that will enable WAP are not currently present on most phones hence an increase in that will help the growth.
As the growth unfolds, we urge everyone in the websphere to generate ideas on how to better serve the people.

Yea. Francis. You are welcome. Stats helps you keep track of your performance, create open room to address any lapses and make new discovery possible.
There is potential in Nigerian web space.
I am not shocked that Egypt is ahead of us in terms of actual users. I have been doing some research and when you consider the population of Nigeria, we definitely need a lot more users online. That is the pain we pay for not having a larger middle class in my opinion.
Anyway, thank you so much for this information. It is greatly needed.
@solomonsydelle
you are welcome. I quite agree with you, we need more people online. Like you know, a lot more needs to be done. Am sure there are millions of people out there who don’t know want potential lies on the internet.
I sure believe we shall let them see the light. Below 10% of our population currently online, that’s bad!!! Though packed with opportunity!
This is really good. there is a lot of noise about the nigerian internet market but you can hardly find any data. Thanks for the work webtrendsng. Many startups are going to need your service.
