WaterHackathon Lagos; Powered by CcHub + WorldBank Holds This month

Co-creation Hub, Lagos in Collaboration with the Worldbank will hold WaterHackathon this month to find solution to water problem faced by millions of people across the globe.

Water and Sanitation coverage in Nigeria are amongst the lowest in the world.  According to the 2008  report of the WHO/UNICEF JMP Joint Monitoring Programme, Nigeria is in the bottom 25 countries worldwide in terms of water and sanitation coverage. Nigeria, like several other sub Saharan African countries is not on track to reach the MDG targets of 75%  coverage for improved drinking water and 63% coverage for  improved sanitation by the year 2015.

Water Meetup

Before the hackathon, there will be a brainstorming meetup session on the 13th (this Thursday) from 5:30pm – 8pm. At the Meetup, water experts and other interested stakeholders will brainstorm challenges in water and sanitation, peculiar to Nigeria, that technology tools can be created to address.
