WordCamp Nigeria recap and slides
Wordcamp Nigeria was successful, held last Saturday at Finicky Restaurant, Jibowu Yaba, Lagos. Attendees started coming in at about 4pm and was treated to a variety of Africa dishes of their choice.
After the meal, first presenter was Dadepo Aderemi, he presented an introduction to WordPress engine, how powerful it is and how it can be use as a full-fledged CMS.
Seye Kuyinu spoke thereafter, with focus on plugin development for wordpress. He first rolled out the list of his favourite plugins which have aided his development. The include;

- Email users
- Google analytic
- Next gen gallery
- Role manager
- WP-phpmyadmin
- WP-easy uploader
- WP-audio
He later discussed how to build plugins and elaborated on how he built his popular plugin; duduSMS.
Bade Adesemowo of Bincom ICT was the next to speak, taking a different dimension, he title his presentation; Impact of Open Source on developing Nations. He pointed out the fact that developing nations can save cost by using open source technologies and deploy faster without having to re-invent the wheel.
Thereafter it was questions and answers, very interactive session!
After the event, a group picture was taken and then networking. The networking took more time than the presentations. It was interesting!
